Hey, Bench!
Thanks, man, for joining in
I've been
Wondering where you've been
It is
Really good to know
Others will
Be part of the show

I think
some poetic fun
Should be
Enjoyed by everyone
So, hey,
Hey, what do you say
Dive in
And join the fray!

Go get
The girls and boys
Let them
Kick up some noise
Yes tell
Everyone around
We need
More poetic clowns!!

Maybe
In a short while
We'll be
Sharing some smiles
Hee, Hee,
Hee, Hee, Hee. Hee, Hee
Yeah, that
Would be fine by me!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Or to get busted by a poetry cop

On The Road Again

Postby BenLaney » Mon Aug 04, 2003 4:56 pm

I ran into Willie Nelson
He was in sorry shape
Head bandaged, walking with crutches
Limping like a wounded ape
I ran up and said, "Hey, Willie,
Is there something I can do?
Man, you're really looking messed up
Tell me, what happened to you?"
Willie said, "It's nice of you to ask,
But I'll be alright friend
It's my own fault because I was
Playin' On The Road Again!"

La la la la la
la la la la la la la la la la
Hey, don't nobody tell Willie
That I told on him, okay?
shhhh......

My Pet Polar Bear

Postby BenLaney » Thu Aug 07, 2003 6:24 pm

I took my
Pet polar bear
To Tahoe
And taught
Her how to ski
Now that
Crazy polar bear
Flys and flips
Through the air
And she skis
Way better than me!!

Giraffe Suit

Postby BenLaney » Thu Sep 11, 2003 4:10 am

I've got a
Giraffe suit
I like to
Wear on Mondays
After I've
had a few,
Or four,
Or five beers
Oh, but some
Mondays are tough
Because the
The inside
Of my
Giraffe suit
Is so rough
And it really
Scratches my ears!

Hey, has anybody here had experience with a giraffe suit? I would appreciate any advice you might have on how to make the inside less scratchy. Have any of you ever had that problem? What do you think?

Should I just forget about it and maybe trade it for a giant catipillar costume, or maybe even a gopher outfit? You really don't see too many people walking around in those anymore, do you?

Oh yeah, and another thing I'm really wondering about is where are all the clowns? Have the clowns all left town? Please, don't say that they've all left town! We NEED clowns around. What kind of circus would this life be without clowns?

Well, I guess I'm going to go take off this giraffe suit and go sit out under the stars for a while. My ears are getting rubbed raw from the scratchy insides of this thing. Maybe it just needs some kind of lining sewn into the inner part.

Oh, and if you run into any clowns please, send them over. I will keep checking and hoping, 'cause that's just how I am. Always hoping I'll run into a clown 'cause I really like clowns. And I like funny things they do when they're trying to make me smile.

Really Red!

Postby BenLaney » Fri Sep 12, 2003 1:53 am

Oh, see me, see me,
See me really red
Red from my toenails
To the tips of the hairs
On top of my little head
Here I was writing
Being oh, so cute
And let it slip out
About my giraffe suit

Caught up in creating
Going with the flow
What was I thinking?
God in heaven knows
Now there's no hiding
My secret's exposed
And even Becky
Has come and read my post!!

Well, I suppose that since I let out the secret to what inspires me to be such a prolific, creative writer that poets all over cyberspace now will be hunched over their keyboards in the wee hours of the morning tapping out beautiful poetry while dressed in giraffe suits. Excepting Martin Vann, of course. (I think he prefers polka dotted boxers, a wide-brimmed hat and a pair of cowboy boots.) ....................Okay, I was only speculating!!

But, hey, maybe this could actually be a good thing! Especially if we can commission someone who could design a giraffe suit that is not so itchy on the inside.

Whoa! Yeah! And, maybe some of them will be poetic clowns! That WOULD be cooooool! Hey, if I run into any poetic clowns I will invite them here to dreamersreality quick! I hope you will do the same! Ha! Ha! Haaaaaaa!

Well, time to shuck the giraffe suit and go out on the deck. The moon and stars are exceptionally bright tonight here over the Santa Cruz Mountains. It's always good to drink in a fair amount of starlight and moonbeams after a hard day in a giraffe suit. It is very healthy for a poetic soul I understand. I know it always gives me a boost!

Oh, before I go....Thank you Martin Vann and Becky! And you don't have to let anyone else know about the giraffe suit, do you? I mean, I shudder to think what would happen if my Uncle Bob found out. He's getting up there in age and something like this could trigger major heart palpitations or an emphysema attack! Thanks very much!

Mr. Ben,

Cowboy boots, wide brimed hat, poka dotted boxers, only thing you missed was my spurs. Ain't no-body got No Privacy around the place! Of course, that is what Dreamersreality is all about isn't it, decent exposure, from broken hearts to poka dotted boxer shorts.
