Almost Anything Goes

Song dedicated to a fallen 12 year old.

Hey everyone-

There was a girl named Tempest Smith. She had an interest in Wicca books and brought them to school with her to study. All the other kids would call her names, like "witch," "devil worshiper" etc. They would quote the bible to her and say she's going to Hell, etc.

One day she finally had enough and hung herself from her bunk bed. It tears me up that people can be such jack asses to people that are different. So in an attempt to help bring Tempest's story to light, I have written and recorded a song (I already have the poem for it available on this site). I figured you all might want to check it out.

It can be downloaded here:

Outside Looking In

I know a lot of people aren't able to listen to rap and understand the lyrics... so here's the lyrics for the song:

-----------------------------------------------

Outside Looking In

Outside looking in, I know I can't win
I don't live in sin, this is what's within
Outside looking in, I know I can't win
I don't live in sin, this is what's within

When will I have friends again? She asked her reflection
She was writing in her journal, and she couldn't find direction
"All the kids at school, man they tease me everyday
And I try to be a normal kid but that drains strength away
I can't help I'm shy, I wish to god I could
I have interest in Wicca though the kids don't think I should
Quoting from the Bible they shout and curse my name
I wish for a moment they could all feel my pain
Would it really matter, would they stop and change their ways?
It's happened since I was a kid, I know it's not a phase
I truly love my mother, she has all my heart
But I have no future, where should I start?"

Outside looking in, I know I can't win
I don't live in sin, this is what's within
Outside looking in, I know I can't win
I don't live in sin, this is what's within

She finally closed her journal, and it slid beneath the bed
She looked in the mirror, then she hung her head
She kissed her reflection, this was her only voice
She tied a noose to her bed, too bad it was this choice
She thought for a moment, then let her feet slide out
As she dangled tightly, she let her air run out
Her lips were turning blue, as she passed away
No one could predict, the strength of dismay
As her mom found out, it hit her like a train
She loved her eldest daughter, but she couldn't spare her pain
Several months have passed, but the picture is clearer
She left the world a symbol, her lipstick in the mirror

Outside looking in, I know I can't win
I don't live in sin, this is what's within
Outside looking in, I know I can't win
I don't live in sin, this is what's within

(Bridge)

Outside looking in, I know I can't win
I don't live in sin, this is what's within
Outside looking in, I know I can't win
I don't live in sin, this is what's within

*This song is dedicated to the memory of Tempest Smith, rest in peace*
Life is just a game, not everyone can win

very sad that inner pains come to such things. Kids can be so cruel to each other and rarely ever stop to think how badly their choice behaviors can effect someone else.

Great Tribute Seizure... I like the song and have added it to my Seizure and Dank collections

Thanks Becky. And I agree with your first statement... that's the purpose of the song, to raise awareness on how your actions can affect someone else...

good song!
What you do with your life is only half of the equation, the other half, the more important half, is who you're with when you're doing it.
