I wrote this poem without any reason. A couple weeks after I wrote it, my grandmother passed away. So, I dedicate it to her.

In the Silence of the Night

I think of you
When the sun goes down beyond the hill
and a cool breeze can be felt
When the cricket sings his sweet song
as if noone were around
I think of you
When a dew drop glistens on a blade of grass
and a silence fills the air
When the moon beams glimmer on the hardwood floor
through a slumbering child's window
I think of you
When I look into the velvet sky
and wonder what it's like
in heaven

I feel so many things
All are so real
Most of all I feel selfish
A truth thats hard to reveal

I feel you have left me
And what am I supposed to do?
Handle life on my own?
Handle it without you?

What a cruel trick you've played
What a harsh thing to do
Did you ever think of ME?
Me without YOU

Now you've left me
Left me with nothing
Well wait a minute
Maybe you did leave me with something

A lifetime full of memories
Some bad but mostly good
The times we shared
A certain position in which you stood

Its rushing back to me
How wrong I have been
To only think of myself
Thinking it's my end

You've given me so much
More than you'll ever know
You helped me to learn
Helped me to grow

I'm the person I am today
Because of you
For that I can never thank you enough
And I promise I will never act the fool

Your beauty was subtle
Your ways very calm
When I went overboard
You kindly let me know that I was wrong

I never realized how much of you
Is in me
I will carry you in my heart
For all eternity

For you still live
In my heart, my action, and in my mind
Never fret my love
I will never leave you behind.

Tear filled scars

I stared into the morning light
And remember you stood with me,
wishing you were still there
as I stare out to the sea,
The days we spent with wine and love
dreaming of the stars above,

Now you leave me all alone to stand
All alone on the cold wet sand,
Why? I ask did it have be you
Just when love became so true,
I miss the days we would laugh and sing
the days when we would fly on loves wing,

Didnt see the reaper appear
Or your cries as you screamed in fear,
Wish I could have stopped you, saved your life
Took away the sadness along with the knife,
Now I'm lost with you gone from my view
I'm blame myself for the death of you!!

Fly my Angel be free like you was before
I'll sit and cry I have nothing anymore!!

oh i missed this one! I had made a poem recently when my student died. I'll share it anyway.

In Memory

To my dearest boy
So young yet departed from us.
I mourn for the loss,
But will cherish the memories.

It was just a few years back
When you were sitting in my room,
Ever so hungry for knowledge,
Wanting to grow up fast but still a child.

We shared a lot of laughter, you and I.
And there were those serious moments too.
I learned from you
As much as you learned from me.

I learned to be more giving, more forgiving,
I learned to be more patient, more loving.
I learned to laugh when things were down.
I learned to love myself too, because of you.

Now that you have left us
I make this heartfelt wish...
Smile forever my friend
And be peaceful wherever you are.

Goodbye dear friend...
