a ghost from my past
a touch of love
it's been 7 long empty years
and i face another
holiday without you
as your memory clings to my soul

very easy to do
in my present life
still no man to hold

it is your touch i long for
it is your love i want to hold
i miss it more and more everyday

you have always said
if i was to ever go before you
i want you to find someone new

love them and need them as i did you
if their time and love they caint share
then find one whom will just as i

your heart so full of love
love i wish i could take with me
if i was ever to die

i cain recall
when you wanted me to marry your best friend
because he was so much like you
i told you,your such a silly man
you know your not gonna die
anytime soon

so let's not talk about such a thing
besides if you died
i could never love or give to another
the passion intended for you

here i sit on a picnic table
at the top of the lake
another holiday without you
remininscin' as my eyes follow your friends boat below

it was your friends idea for me to come along
the children i cain see enjoy all that they see

as i gather my thoughts
i just want to sit here and write out my heart to you
Happy 4th of July my Love
every firework displayed up in Gods sky
makes me cry
as you and i had fireworks of our own
we displayed

i miss you more and more upon every holiday
as i look back to all the sacrifices you've done
to make it home while you were away

this is the last journey
that you will not be able to make a phone call
nor will i receive a card and a love letter from you

yet,i will feel your spirit
i will feel your soul

comfort came over me
as i felt that warm kiss upon my neck and lips

i keep the part of your heart
you left me with
safely tucked away
until we are reunited
as one
