I Want To Tell You, About The First Days Of My Life

I want to tell you, about the first days of my life
Like, my first kiss, she was the only one then, came my
First fast car, so sweet, as she roared down our street
The neighbors complained and Dad said, son, keep it down

My first day in California, I had never been away from home
Men in uniforms, screaming at me, this was my first day
They said, you have three minutes to shave, shower and be back here
Here, was what they called platoon street, we stood tall, and remembered

The first days of our lives, foot-ball games and that very, first kiss
Our first, fast car roaring down the street & neighbors complained
Dads, said to sons like me, keep it down, you are upsetting your mother
So, I went two blocks over and raised hell, with my first fast car

Served my time, saw more than I care to explain, came home
Saw you at the grocery store, my first kiss, more beautiful
Than I remembered, I just said hi, at the check out stand
She was surprised to see me, said, I heard you joined the Marines

I replied, that is true and I apologize to you, I left without
Ever saying good-bye to my first kiss, she remembered that night
People behind me, said, are you buying groceries are hitting on this girl
If, so, get her phone number, we have hungry children at home

Embarrassed, I said, I just got home from over-seas, this is my first day home
Then, there was a quite feeling came over all of them
Then the lady said, welcome home, welcome back to your home
We all hope, your first day home, will be wonderful, talk to her, we can wait

That was the way it was, back in my home town, no we didn't date
She was married now, had a loving man and three children that filled her heart
With love, but, she said to me, glad you are home and I remember the first days
Of our lives, your dad saying slow down son, you are upsetting your mom

We walked out of the grocery store, I walked her to her car, she smiled
Then she drove off with a smile, of the first days of our lives, now,
Dad and Mom are gone, my first kiss, she is gone, still I have
The fastest car and I love to run up and down the street

Still, I miss, the First Days Of Our Lives, kids become men & women
Another day will come, the first one for you, me, all of us when we
Remember, the First Days Of Our Lives, as they become memories
First Days, Of Our Lives
