Jungle Mirage
Author: Pondering Red

enter waves of winds
from two directions
through the sweating windows-
ouside in the hotlands,
over the hopscotch sidewalks,
i can see the heat-
it's very wavy-
mirages form
ghost images
of a distant lover,
in a faraway state of mind.
we drove to the very top
of the poaz volcano.
it was a wild and wonderful
tangle of jungle twisted trees-
barks full of moss fan like emerald leaves-
disorganized patterns of shadow lights on
you twisting your body in playful repose.
trees about to seize us to
wrap us around into their jungle time.
cool air - we wore sweaters.
now you are encapsulated in a 5 by 7
photograph -faded colour -in an old blue trunk.
we could breathe then.

this mirage snaps like dry spaghettini noodles.
I have been sitting here
for almost 2 months now.
the cicadas
buzz louder
than a saw from an unseen sawer.
time now is slower than a wise turtles
pounding steps-
slower than thick pancake syrup trying to
get out of a clogged up bottle
you - heavy into your sleep escape
on the sofa
and i,
i await the cool fall equinox
like a crab darting
up and down and sideways,
trying to beat the tortoise.
i am doing really nothing today
nothing at all

i reflect on costa rica sky.

good memories!

Ah yes, those are good memories of Costa Rica. Been there, down the rapids, seeing beautiful butterflys, birds you only see in books, and being captured in a 5x7 picture about to hit a rock on the rapids. Thanks for a very nice poem, that brought back my memories too.

Hearts That Loved, Still Share The love

You cross many time lines, sands that have no breath, or water to drink. As you stand up you see, love is all you need, even if, its only a memory of you and me, its still my love, that I share with you. Now go back to sleep, just wanted you know, well, you know what I mean.
