A Brother's Love Shines Down From Heaven
Author: Terrie*

Sometimes in this life, When we lose touch
We often pray ,
That there is always someone in our place
So often life’s drift apart
we never know or even ask why
For fear of hearin’ or not hearin’ the truth behind the why
of why life's are takem away
Many times in this life ,that passes us by
We smile upon many strangers
Hopin’ that they are, ones of many
That may feel the joy our hearts once did
As we hope and pray
That they are chosen angels
Placed in one’s path
In this life that sails by like a ship
I think of your brother that you left behind
and i think of you
A brother I prayed so often ,to someday see
But yet feared , a tear stained face ,
filled with your only brother’s tears
Today I come back down
From my cloud and ponder
as i read the obituaries today
my heart did stop
As I sit to myself , I begin to wonder
With all thoughts of my heart
If that one bright star
Is shinin’ down on me ,
As it reflects off of you?
Sendin’a lonely sprinkle
Of Heavens tears
i cain hear the faint whisper comin' from those tears
of your brother
I finally found my brother,
do not worry dear
I finally have him near
as you turn my way,and say
"he ain't heavy ,he's my brother"
i look up into the big blue sky
As you both sit at heaven’s gates
Gazin’ down upon the chidren and i
and all the friends , Ken left behind
i hear the gentle breeze upon the meadows
as the dandelions i hold loosly
in my grasp, float gently up and away
your wish was answered
for surely there was
not just one, but several Angels
that joined and meet Ken in a path
where God intended him to be
a family full of friends
a circle of love
where we could not be
you leave them all in tears
since you found your way back home
i know how they feel
i know what they 've seen
deep down in your heart
to know you ,Ken
was to love you
and let it always be known
we all love you!
------- Author's Notes -------
recently i meet several correctional officers, guardin' our staff from a patient of mine (small world) they worked with my brother-in-law at a nearby Prison, they filled me in on what i missed for 12 years,we exchanged hugs as i shared a few girly tears, i felt the lost years through them , i shared these words that i wrote when i found out how he died..i thank them for being placed in my path so that some closure was placed and laid to rest.. |
