Unseen Memories
Author: KitKatrina

A tear begins rolling down my cheek,
I canít stop myself from being weak,
The reaction to a thought strikes me,
I realized I was oblivious and didnít see,
I feel as if Iíve been left here all alone,
No one to guide me no path to be shown,
My heart is coming to a dreary halt,
All that has happened was my fault,
The regret I feel every day I wake,
Someone I loved God had to take,
The remorse that visits me too much,
It was my fault with my unfelt touch,
The every word I dared to ignore,
Donít know what I wasnít listening for,
The every hug that had gone unknown,
The every missed call on his home phone,
Every chance that we couldíve had,
We didnít use which makes me mad,
Every inch of his skin I could squeeze,
Every laugh in the autumn breeze,
They were unnoticed until today,
Itís was either that or back in May,
The second he left me all alone,
Everything felt had finally shown,
I feel like I missed out on 17 years,
I wasnít living only living in my fears,
I remember a smile, a laugh, & a cry,
Lord why did my father have to die?
Iím feeling bitter as I clench with fury,
Typing these words as if in a hurry,
A tear begins rolling down my cheek,
I canít stop myself from being weakÖ

------- Author's Notes -------

It's not until you lose someone, that you actually miss them. The small things like a smile, a laugh, a tear, a hug, they are all so important in the end. It's the small things that really matter.
