Expiration Date Of A Life
Author: Meridian Zuriel

You died unexpectedly, but you died content
And it’s peaceful in knowing where you went
You always laughed and chuckled while you were alive
I guess you were prepared for Paradise when your time had arrived
My mom checked the local section and saw your name
When she told me I thought somebody else’s name was the same
I’m-a be honest with you, I chose not to believe it
I shook off those words and chose not to receive it
I was stubborn. I was like naw, are you serious?
She was a perfectly healthy woman. I just went delirious.
You always spoke, you always shook my hand
Now you’re happy in Heaven, above and beyond this land
Singing with the angels, and walking with God
The way you went up, initially, I thought it was kind of odd
But it’s slowly sinking in that you won’t be sitting on my left
I know if I look where you always were, tears will be wept
You won’t be standing up and clapping over there
Because you’ve been caught up to meet Him in the air
The timer has run out for you, but this isn’t the end
You’ll be rejoicing with saints’ long gone and old friends
Seeing people who you thought you’d never see again
Crying tears of joy while fellowshipping with lost kin
I can only imagine, I can only dream about it
I can only contemplate and wonder if Heaven is crowded
However, they say Heaven is so roomy and so spacious
Just dwelling on that thought makes me say good gracious.
It must run further than the Pacific Ocean and the Nile.
Nevertheless, I miss her presence, I miss her existence
She brought joy to all, and the joy she brought was persistent.
She vanished just like that. She even made a frowner smile.
At least she left in good spirits and with a happy heart
Knowing that this isn’t where her journey ends, but where it starts
