Silver Snake
Author: Pondering Red

A long line of train
like a silvery white snake
into the glass fortress of downtown.
The serpent slides with elegance-
winds gracefully.
Plants shake a bit.
This snake roams
past the massive muddied
construction site,
intended for the new
colossal super hospital.
Men in white sterile suits
roam around
the decontamination process.
I watch them.
I inspect them.
I wash my hands.
Siren symphony in a few years?
Magnificent view blocked ?
I wonder ?
Now quiet...
All of the leaves have packed and left.
Trees dull and brownish-
as muddy
as the construction area-
as my thoughts-
as my thoughts about us-
as I consider
slithering away...
