In His Light
Author: Catyrose

Radiant beams of light filter in
Through the polished window pane
Revealing lines and creases
Graciously etched upon the landscape of a once youthful face
The Artistís Exhibition
Of how time has left its lasting trace

Myopic eyes, still the color of sapphires
Open at a leisurely pace
Enticed by the brightness of a blessed summer day
Whispering softly to herself, she begins to pray

Gnarled and knotted fingers replace those of her youth
She reaches for the good book on the bedside tray
Reverently, turning the pages
Frayed and fading with time
Searching in these quiet moments
His words have become her lifeline
