Small Wars
Author: WilTheThrill

All this time, I've been thinking of how I'll end it,
No matter how I twisted or thought of how to bend it,
Really, I'm not sure if I ever comprehended it,
You just had that impression on me,
That way you looked at me, and winked your eye,
Thoughts of you unleashed upon me in the dead of night,
I took it in unconditionally, I never asked why,
You were just always sufficent enough, I was never lonely.

The fact that you came to me, introduced yourself,
Carried with confidence, you didn't need anything else,
And I couldn't help but be attracted, just being myself,
Soon I was balancing two worlds, mine and yours,
The weight, the pressure, just to end in despondency,
I bettered myself, brought into an entirely different degree,
All this to love you, and you had to disagree,
I surrender now, I'm sick of these small wars.
