I Almost Had It Sometimes

In my time ---- there has been a very tall woman that I always had to look up at.
The short woman ---- that always got lost in the crowds.
The pleasingly plump ladies ---- I could not get my arms around.
The thin women I held ---- but always felt like I was hugging myself.
The quiet ones that left me talking to myself and I felt like a babbling idiot.
The verbally loud or physically pushy women I always stayed clear of ----
all of my life!
Many did I love in a certain way.
Hundreds and hundreds of gingham dresses have hit my floor.
Yet ---- I am still alone?
If I could take certain things from each woman I have known.
Diana's neatness.
Randi's gentle ways.
Nina's giving heart.
Holly's intelligence and face.
Laurie's statuesque beauty.
Annie's love making that gave me such pleasure ---- it could bring tears to my eyes.
To all the fools that stand on their hills!
Making romantic wishes ---- to find the perfect woman.
Would find him alone and still lonely.
There is no greater pain ---- than being alone!
Remember this I have learned.
There is no perfection in people ---- only in love.

Bravo! Bravo!

This was so gaspingly passionate, intimate, and sweet...down to the very last line. Yet it also had the flare, thrill, and wish of better perfection that just tied the bow on the whole thing! Perfect, very lovely, and a I couldn't stop reading till I got to the end! Awesome job Rick!

WOW

I don't know why but I am just speachless from your kind feedback.
I have not posted a lot of poems before until I came to this site.
I often wondered about what someone would say about the words I have written.
Grateful for the kind words.
Thank you!
