It’s nine o’clock here
And I flip on the news
Just to see the destruction,
Blown by a short fuse
People gunning people
Poverty stricken lands
While the rich stay happy
Without dirtying their hands
Politicians spewing lies
Corruption, scandal galore
Filthy mongrels running the country
I can’t take anymore
Of the dirt under the rug
That fails to be swept
The killing never stops
And people just accept
Like little robots
Programmed to not care
About the pain and the sadness
But we only sit and stare
Ignoring the conscience
Screaming for action
Our heart burning
With intense dissatisfaction
Together we can rise
Make something more
Stop honor and principle
From walking out the door
It starts with one
And rises like a storm
Demanding something better
We must have reform
Leaders with dignity
A better distribution of wealth
People helping people
Governments worried about health
A return of family value
Teaching principle and choice
Taking responsibility
And raising your voice
When you see wrongs in the world
Yet no one says a word
You must stand tall
Demanding your right to be heard
The world needs leaders
With purity of heart
Ones with courage
Willing to do their part
Ones that inspire others
To reach for new heights
To believe in themselves
And put use to their rights
This world could be a reality
It could be so much more
All we have to do
Is step through the door
