Equilibrium

What family stays together?
Prays together?
Or spend days together?
What family enjoys each other's company?
Where communication is the key?
Who has serenity?
Who can tolerate another's personality?
And still have a house and a home
Is there a perfect home?
Everybody is right, no one is wrong
We counsel other marriages when we can't get along
Everyone gets excited and wants to talk at the same time
Why is love so hard to show when it doesn't cost us a dime?
Voids left unattended for years
Apathy and unconcern are in the place of tears
Now it may be hard to fill in the gap
Who cares anymore? We're sinking so far in this crap
Rendezvous aren't vacations
We bring our attitudes with us, causing vexations
So we can forget about rest and relaxation
Irritation comes so easy to us now that we run out of patience
It's Lexington and Concord
Like a baby freed from an umbilical cord
The bond is gone, the connection is lost
Both of us can't talk without being cross
Equilibrium.
Where's the balance?
Son sides with the father, daughter sides with the mother
And mom and dad can't stand one another
Respect of persons?
No.
But one thing's for certain
This relationship isn't working
...Everybody's hurtin'...
