Yellow Bird, I See You Streaking Pass My Yard
5 June, 2003
Author: Dino Hi
Yellow bird, I see you streaking pass my yard
Zooming fast, back and forth
The sun shining on your feathers, turning them bright
I know you must be beautiful, but I only catch a glimse
I blink my eye, you just passed by
I sit, and wait your return, hoping you'll stay
There she is! Too fast, she's gone
Another day goes by, still no sign
I'm left to wonder? About her beauty?
>From a distance, I watch
For that streaking, freaking, yellow bird!
That's left me wanting to see her face, just once!
Here, sitting by the window, hours, looking out
Still watching, listening, hoping, and staring
I'm the one! In this cage, you've captured me!

Capricorn (62.30.218.103) -- Monday, June 9 2003, 04:29 pm I think your last line sums this poem up beautifully! Your life's been captured by the yellow bird!...spending hours looking for her. Good one Dino. |
Dino (67.24.224.246) -- Wednesday, June 11 2003, 08:32 am Ya that freaking yellow bird! Here I sit, then the thought hit me. I'm the one in this cage, nothing better to do, then to stare out of this cage, like a captured bird sitting on a perch. How dumb of me. I've got work to do. Thanks for your comment Cap. |
Ben (67.123.244.245) -- Sunday, July 27 2003, 08:03 pm I really like this one, Dino. It actually made me smile! Now, what could be better than looking for that beautiful yellow bird? Ha! Ha! Haaa!
