I never meant to hurt you; I never meant to make you cry
I never meant to deceive you with all of my lies
I just wanted you to love me but I didn’t think you would
I just wanted to be something more because I felt I was no good
But by trying to make you happy I tore your world apart
I crushed all your faith in me and it broke your heart
That was the last thing that I wanted, that was not my plan
I just wanted you to be proud to say I was your man
But it went to far, it got worse everyday
And now it’s to the point to where you may walk away
So I’m begging you not to go as tears fall from my eyes
And I’m asking for forgiveness for each and every lie.
