The Horror Of It All: Poems 1 To 5
20 February, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
One-eyed jack rabbit on a tear
and so too ran the wounded bear
but they both stopped suddenly and had to stare
as the hunter fell victim to his own snare!
--
One day he stepped on a garden hoe
and the blood from his head began to flow.
Gardening can be a treacherous way to go!
Pity poor Edgar Allan Poe!
--
The Prince of Darkness moved in next door.
The Women's Bridge club was becoming a bore
so he cast a spell and it's hard to ignore
they had all behaved like ladies before!
--
The roots of a vampire and his family tree
began in the year of 1463
and continued to the new millennium of A.D.
until their blood was infected by H.I.V.
--
In truth she surrendered to all his lies.
Their life would continue with every sunrise
but here in the field where the black crow flies
he knelt over her body to close her eyes.
