Fact Or Fiction: Poems 1 To 5
2 March, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
The tax auditor was here once before.
His behaviour is insistent and easy to abhor
when you think you're exempt from the human core
so the Greek Gods refuse to answer the door!
--
To solve this mystery and gain the prize
a potent imagination could only surmise
the map of Atlantis was off the beaten track
and located in a box of Cracker Jack!
--
To reach Valhalla they stayed on course
with loud volume, thunder and brute force
as heavy metal was their visceral source
for the headbanging mythology of the Norse!
--
Dionysus went to a party again last night
but woke up this morning and had a fright
when his mirror revealed an aging sight
of someone whose wrinkles were losing the fight!
--
On the clear blue surface of a secluded pond
Narcissus developed a common bond
and of his reflection he became extremely fond
even when homeliness was quick to respond!
