Spooks And Kooks: Poems 1 To 5
18 March, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
Laid to rest and down to the bone
is a hallowed memory carved in stone
but time can't suppress his ghostly moan.
In Westminster Abbey he is not alone!
--
The condemned would deal with the enemy of time
for committing the act of a heinous crime.
His victim carries on without her dream
and in ghostly residence on the cheerleading team!
--
From the Bates Motel I write to you
on their stationery with the blood soaked through
and there's not much else that I can do
although my recent disappearance is a clue!
--
It's a grave situation as their uniforms smell.
The college fight song is like a death knell
and on the anniversary of where they all fell
is the untimely return of the marching band from Hell!
--
Wagging his tail as dogs often do
animal hierarchy offers this clue
when a spectral presence comes out of the blue
in the form of a lady that he once knew!
