What Comes Around, Goes Around: Poems 1 To 5
19 March, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
The clowns no longer supplied the ham.
As fugitives from laughter they're on the lam.
Buffoonery is now tempered by a morose state
with a return to integrity in political debate!
--
As a work in progress the comma isn't clear
and the period would prefer to stop right here
but the question mark still retains the most clout
by punctuating our thoughts with fear and doubt!
--
The cheetah was too fast and more than able
in deftly beating another timetable
but the methodical slug exercised power of attorney
because it's not the destination it's about the journey!
--
Made a careless mistake down at the photo lab.
Picked up the pictures but made the wrong grab.
Their honeymoon rocked and a baby is due!
Is this not menopause I'm going through?
--
Sob stories for many are like the plague
and for which we always try to renege
when the act of such sorry is impossible to atone
because when you cry you'll cry alone!
