Carnegie Hall invited him to play
so the groundhog practiced night and day
but the size of his instrument prompted a delay
and most likely in the hole the cello would stay!

No longer the tax haven of your sleep
any entry to dreamland will not come cheap
and this is where the government creep
by depriving R.E.M. of going deep!

Raleigh's discovery went up in smoke
with a new addiction for the average bloke
as the tobacco plant managed to provoke
and curse each generation to cough and choke!

Someone in the gallery let out a yell
disrupting the concentration of William Tell.
The arrow was crooked and the apple fell
along with his beloved son as well!

The illustration of living inside this square
is simply more than they can bear
in a life of confinement which offers no reprieve
for a comic strip family who wish to leave!
