This Is A Moment In Time: Poems 1 To 5
14 April, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
Many a great man did not anticipate
that providence would arrive a little too late
as history recorded this important date
when the variables of time sealed their fate!
--
The bells don't chime here anymore
but time is adaptable at keeping score
when a new era is enlightened by a digital read.
May your town clock continue with godspeed!
--
The suicide bomber was going for broke
in his steely determination to anger and provoke
but a harmless mint would save many innocent folk
as this fanatic tripped and began to choke!
--
Into a life of piety she was born and bred
so some believed where her vision had led
by choosing to go with their faith instead
and ignoring the hysteria in Bernadette's head!
--
Delighted passengers booked a return trip!
Infamy never tightened its infernal grip
and she sailed many voyages in her prime.
The Titanic saw the iceberg just in time!
