Fate Is A Bittersweet Mistress: Poems 1 To 5

Epilogue for a deadly germ
made our life a shorter term
in this requiem for the human race
soon to disappear without a trace!

--

In the priceless real estate of your mind
peace and contentment is in a bind
when the window to your soul packs a punch
with a sign that reads 'Out to lunch!'

--

Mirth and melancholy had to share
the duality of joy and despair
in the songs which endured and carried the day.
These mixed emotions are here to stay!

--

Seeking Utopia was my ultimate intention
through unparalleled heights of peerless convention
and through autonomy it's a clear contention
I can do without human intervention!

--

Many a great man did not anticipate
that providence would arrive a little too late
as history would record this important date
when the variables of time sealed their fate!
