Earthy Tones And Guttural Moans: Poems 1 To 5

This savage inquisition was the insidious goal
to steal the backbeat of your wretched soul
as the devil subverted the ideal of good taste
when rock and roll took aim at below the waist!

--

In a deep dark region of your mind
lies the naked truth and a revealing find
that carnal release is the way to unwind
when calculus leaves you in a bind!

--

The revelers were kicked out but wanted back in.
Life after Club Eden was nothing but sin
and thousands of years later in a restless pace
they're still looking to party in a decent place!

--

Longer than a hibernating bear
this guitar solo went on a tear
with enough time to grow facial hair
and several fluctuations in your market share!

--

This scuffle between you and me
was soon a melee adding three
followed by a donnybrook but losing score
by escalating into a riot and an all-out war!

Hi Colin!

Your poems are miniature commentaries on modern culture and relationships. I particularly liked the one about the guitar solo lasting through "several fluctuation in your market share!" You have a uniquely interesting way of looking at things.
