The Itinerary Of The Dubious Mind: Poems 1 To 5
3 May, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
Barren and empty is the earth's parking lot.
Once it was our planet or so we thought.
The shoe didn't fit and that's a hint
behind this giant fossil of a carbon footprint!
--
As you continue to drink with olympian force
you'll climb that mountain and its natural course
but once you've made it to the top
the next destination is one hell of a drop!
--
No one came and no one cared
that music is communal and should be shared
so the Nihilist Glee Club made a choice
and in unison refused to raise their voice!
--
The migration of the buffalo came to rest
when the stampeding herd received a test
with the mental distraction of this new railway track.
They chose to turn around and headed back!
--
Industry regulations pointed to the obvious name
synonymous with ridicule and flightless shame
as their clumsy attempts to leave the ground
made sure Dodo Airlines were extinction bound!
