The Mind Is A Restless Hunter: 5 Poems
5 May, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
Beyond the curtain Dorothy took a little trip.
Her fantasy world would lose its grip
and behind this facade the secret did slip
that the Wizard of Oz was a computer chip!
--
The amoeba escapes the naked eye
in a microscopic environment where mysteries lie
so we'll never see the reason why
he forgot to be a gentleman and zip up his fly!
--
We fell asleep before you cleared your throat
and on that assumption prepared to vote
as this notoriety seized the day
when your invariable dullness was here to stay!
--
This blues symposium will help you cope.
The human condition is based on hope
and a peace of mind you'll be able to keep
if you're inclined to worry and easily weep!
--
Human suffering registers daily on your plate
so take heed my friend as you contemplate
on life's many detours and the toll it takes
by allowing yourself timely bathroom breaks!
