Their Purpose Served By The Hands Of Fate: 5 Poems
11 June, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
At this table they had one last toast.
The mood was somber so no one could boast
that he has having them for dinner instead of the roast.
The misfortune of Hannibal Lecter in being the host!
--
The manifesto would reach another day
as the revolution was here to stay
and though his diary stopped at this page
Che Guevara will never age!
--
The Tasmanian devil needs to chill.
The choreography of life has its own will
and stuck in rush hour traffic is making him ill.
This Whirling Dervish must stand perfectly still!
--
Man had a desire to take the lead.
It set him apart as an inventive breed
as a species born with a special need
by replacing the horse to accelerate speed!
--
The diminishing jungle forced him to uproot
and from his former lifestyle he was given the boot.
As an urban dweller this man is still a brute
even though Tarzan now wears a different suit!
