They Remain In The Shadows Obscured By Time: 5 Poems

The tragedy in this playground was a terrible thing.
There's a ghostly apparition on the moving swing.
The mother still remembers and is a nervous wreck.
The little girl in question had broke her neck.

--

Lethal injection didn't throw him off course.
His restless pursuit is still a driving force
as a wandering spirit who has no choice
but to silence the screaming of your voice!

--

I am afraid to close my nocturnal eyes.
They keep feeding me the torment of their lies
as I wait for the salvation of the sunrise.
Our family is cursed by this haunted disguise!

--

Dearly departed Ms. Joplin had another drink
and gave the gaunt Mr. Morrison time to think.
It's always after-hours and they're beyond the brink.
How much lower can a rock star sink?

--

Time stands still and there's no debate
for those who exist in another state
and not their choice to be chosen by fate.
The dead know now it's far too late!

I am sorry to inform you...

but sunrise will never bring you salvation if you keep your nocturnal eyes in the dark...immersed in shadows that are nothing but lies...
