The Emotive Persuasion Which Unties The Bind: 5 Poems
Author: Colin Stewart
The conflict began with Adam and Eve.
Even your imagination couldn't conceive
when the struggle continued with Sarah and Steve.
The gender wars are still without a reprieve!
The memory of youth seems so sublime
in this elegiac moment suspended by time
as you look at a face that will never age.
She is destined to remain on this page.
His deceased parents sit in the mezzanine above
looking down on their son with concern and love
as they recognize a young man who continues to sink
into a family curse of refusing a drink!
For the primary colors it was not the end
as variations of pigments could only extend
when your imagination was allowed to grow
with the possibility of seeing an inverted rainbow!
Rudolph Hess dreamed of a bird in the sky
and from solitary confinement he could fly
to a place reserved in his fertile mind
leaving Spandau prison far behind!
