This Equilibrium Is An Elusive Thought: 5 Poems
Author: Colin Stewart

Greeted the morning and began to sing
but changes are what others will bring
to this bird of peace with a broken wing
and she cannot do a bloody thing!

--

Worry and stress is a familiar refrain.
It's not just considered to be a modern bane
as they stood in silence and for the first time cried
in the Garden of Eden with the wilderness outside!

--

This fad struck like lightning and reached an early peak
by exploiting the satiety of our inner freak
and plummeting to the depths of consumer despair
with the inevitable hit'n run of buyer beware!

--

Bats in the belfry and marbles in your head.
Apathy has catered to the ignorant instead
and the many who have never bothered to vote
will ensure this democracy has only one note!

--

A lack of pretension brings natural joys
but a baby brother can upset your poise
as this innocence ends for all little boys
and ambivalence begins when you have to share your toys!

As far as I can see...

ambivalence belongs to you and me...emotions stir and skeletons move in the wardrobe...equilibrium is a beautiful word for birds of peace with broken wings...can they fly?
