In Deference To Detours And Destinations: 5 Poems
Author: Colin Stewart
The princess who looked just like a dog
bent over and kissed the handsome frog.
She became a supermodel the last time we heard
and he is the spitting image of Mortimer Snerd!
Things are looking might queer.
Same-sex marriage is without peer
"so time machine please get us out of here!"
Homophobes travel to a different year!
This is the place where you can start
to examine the decline of modern art
as the aesthetic revelation has come of age
and was found in the bottom of this birdcage!
Salvador Dali leans over for a goodnight kiss
as you fall silently together into the abyss
when the stimulation of dream imagery comes to a head
by descending over the edge without leaving your bed!
His magnificent voice for those who know
enthralled the masses in an unmatched flow
and as a force of nature that would only grow
when the Great Caruso reached the back row!

And when we think it is end...it is the beginning...we will never get there if our prejudide blinds us...we will never get if we don't allow ourselves to fly with Dali and Caruso...we will never get there if Descartes rules our lives!
