The Communicable Nature Of This Social Animal: 5 Poems
23 August, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
Carried away in a basket for all to see
the French Revolution went on a killing spree
when Marie Antoinette lost her pretty head
and ended up on You Tube instead!
---
Charlie stayed away from the scene of the crime.
The execution of his principles seemed so sublime
that he chose to remain in safety behind bars
and joining the ranks of cyber superstars!
---
Linguistic nightmares have come and gone
but progress cannot stifle this inevitable yawn
and in a downward spiral all conversation was sent
when people 'twittered' to their hearts' content!
---
The devil himself resides in the bowel
of detestable behavior considered so foul
as the Witches' Sabbath begin to howl
for their judge and master Simon Cowell!
---
In the afterlife with their consumption of beer
the ancient Egyptians had no fear
and oh so clever was their plan of attack
but who would take their empties back?
