Unfinished Works And Other Quirks: 5 Poems
8 October, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
He took his requiem to a pauper's grave
as an unfinished piece that he couldn't save
but please poor Mozart you must be brave
when posthumous acclaim is what you crave!
---
She missed her portrait on this important date.
The History of Art was changed by fate.
A substitute arrived and he didn't hesitate.
Mona Lisa's sister was running late!
---
They wait for you to turn out the lights!
It's the nasty side of their nocturnal delights
in a video game where you can't keep score
with the sinister people who live next door!
---
When in doubt if you're feeling beat.
When in doubt you can't take the heat.
When in doubt you must retreat
so when in doubt go ahead and eat!
---
Is it them or is it me?
This perception of what I always see
and from psychological constraints can we break free
when everyone behaves so self-consciously!
