This Life Beyond The One We Know: 5 Poems
20 October, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
A crow looks down on poor Johnny Lee.
He lost his life so violently
to a brother who now resides in Hell
and misses the love of sweet Katy Bell
---
Count Dracula dosen't pause or hesitate.
Frankenstein's monster can certainly relate.
The Wolfman is on the prowl so there's no debate
that they never take time to urinate!
---
Billie Holiday greeted her at the door.
Who could possibly ask for anything more?
When Janis Joplin arrived she received glowing reviews
and joined Bessie Smith just to sing the blues!
---
Lonesome gargoyle in the unemployment line.
Demolition of his building was a sure sign
that old world architecture wasn't meant to last
and stone carvers have become ghosts of the past!
---
Seeking repentance I pace this floor
and like so many times it's happened before
but no one takes notice of my endless grief
and the ghostly closure in which I crave relief!
