Out Of This World And Into Another One: 5 Poems
3 November, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
The council of the galaxy decided in a flash
this was a planet with a personality clash
so the universe would downsize and began to slash
by putting these humans out with the cosmic trash!
---
They tell me it's a flower and I start to cry.
So lovely so vibrant as I say goodbye.
These humans don't understand and begin to retreat
when something so beautiful is also good to eat!
---
Much more trouble than it's worth
is this ozone layer surrounding planet earth
and their spaceship door was slammed in fear
at the thought of chili dogs and lukewarm beer!
---
I know you thought it couldn't be true
but the idea is making the skeptics blue!
There is alien life that mirrors me and you
and those who are intelligent .... are so few!
---
With a smile that never left her face
they'll never know she's from outer space
but now she resides in this foreign place
as Jane Doe in the city morgue without a trace!
