These Restrictions Which Dictate Our Mindful State: 5 Poems
16 November, 2009

'Silly' and 'clever' walk a thin line
unaware of any glitch or warning sign
that you're only as good as your latest review
when those who actually applauded were so few!

---

This burden has become too immense
for those who choose to sit on the fence
leaving little in the way of any suspense
that humans seldom cater to common sense!

---

In the cradle between logic and fear
I don't know what I'm doing here
in my mind of entrapment unable to equate
the nonsense of this paranoid state!

---

This unselfish act could lead to a state of grace
and one of many we've come to embrace
but reality unfortunately impedes us still
when a compromise is reliant on our will!

---

Together these words are trouble bound
and an oxymoron is how they sound
as disappointment will forever loom
for those who always 'safely assume!'
