Lessons Were Learned, The Timing Was Late: 5 Poems
19 December, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
The spontaneity of forward motion may be a curse
but mistakes are often erased before it gets terse
so just when you think that life can't get much worse
push the panic button and go back in reverse!
---
To be living in isolation seemed entirely wrong
so it was a weakness in man to feel he was strong
with a social hierarchy where others didn't belong
and the history of gangs repeated the same old song!
---
The last song ever written did not fail
in capturing the simplicity of every little detail
and all the stars which shone in the sky above.
The last song written was a paean to our love!
---
Too many memories have been denied.
These feelings have haunted me deep down inside
and my house is on the market but I will not sell
until this ghostly realtor puts you through hell!
---
Time was frozen by your smile
and such a glowing sentiment remained for awhile
but the countenance of change made sure it didn't last.
This photographic moment is a relic of the past!
