Final Thoughts From The Electric Chair: 5 Poems
8 January, 2010
Author: Colin Stewart
From the scene of the crime I did flee.
It's easy to forget if you fail to see
although insanity remains as my plea
their perception had not changed about me!
---
Frying bacon - I love that smell!
It's so unmistakable but I have to tell
you that I'm afraid and just as well.
They don't serve this in a place called Hell!
---
Oh my dear mother what have you come to raise?
Oh my dear mother do you have any praise?
Oh my dear mother I am still your son.
Oh my dear mother and I was your first one!
---
For my transgressions many men have died
and though at first I always lied
with a firm denial from those who implied
I would meet my maker on the other side!
---
My son I want you to feel no shame!
There are many here who will make the claim
that I deserve to see my ultimate fate
so grow up with love and try not to hate!
