What Lurks In The Minds Of Men: 5 Poems
Author: Colin Stewart
You took a gamble on your life
but lost both kids and the wife
by selling your soul without a clue
that the devil is a bookie too!
From behind the shadows the monsters hide.
Their notorious reputation now denied
and in an effort to subdue this motley crew
say hello to a chaperon and a nightly curfew!
These bad habits once drove us insane
and reflected the misery of the human bane
but we shall pursue this hobby no more
of a dreadful thing known as war.
In these two compartments of the brain
the division of authority is simple and plain
as here they sit side by side.
The silly and profound cannot be denied!
He woke up from this dream feeling rather ill.
Any responsibility for his actions defeated his will
and for such dire consequences he'll have to face
that her head had been wrapped in a pillow case.
