To Be Asleep Yet Come Awake: 5 Poems
21 March, 2010
Author: Colin Stewart
These jealous thoughts were in my head
and the heart has plans to rule instead
so here I lie with my lover Ned
side by side in this river bed.
------
The love you sent me is in decay.
The flowers in the vase have withered away
and there's not much else that I can say.
The sun stopped shining yesterday!
------
The sweetest voice of them all
took heed to the blessing of this call
and love is more than a little ball
when Jesus sat in the bingo hall!
-----
With this manipulation of your mind
the truth still reigns as one of a kind
but if skepticism leads to dissenting shouts
then the awareness of science raises doubts!
-----
The disappointments in life have yet to be found.
Failure or success lay dormant in the ground
Words are not spoken as he's neutral bound.
This sleeping baby is still safe and sound.

Witch of Oz (58.164.218.170) -- Wednesday, March 24 2010, 12:08 pm This poem conjures these thoughts in me: Heart rules the mind, love fades and withers but from a simple voice or some mystical catalyst, new love emerges, science raises doubts in the theists and the business of life is of little concern to he who remains in his comfort zone. |
