Dreams
14 June, 2010
Author: C. Scott
When we are young, dreams are what come at night
But, as we grow older, we realize
That the real dreams of life
Are what you imagine while you are awake
The dreams of a child are simple and serene
While the dreams of adulthood become more complicated
Does that mean we should stop dreaming as adults?
I believe it means just the opposite
If we were only to recapture the innocence of youth
Our dreams would return us to that simpler time
And allow us to see the good in the things around us
The world is still a wondrous place
A place full of mystery and allure
That we lose sight of as we grow older
We need to somehow open our eyes
To that wonder again
And allow ourselves to dream of what could still be
Instead of only seeing things as they are
The dreams of youth allow us an escape
An escape that is more needed as an adult
That ever was as a child
How do we accomplish this?
That is a question that I cannot answer
The answer is out there,
We just need a modern day
Peter Pan to help us find our way
We need to be able to relocate that place,
You know the one...
"Second star to the right and straight on to morning"
To make life simpler and more innocent again
And allow us the luxury to dream as a child
Only this time while we are awake

LinzAy (71.178.153.45) -- Thursday, June 17 2010, 08:40 am I ALWAYS think that! If only we, as adults, could capture the innocence of a child again. Dreams would mean so much more with the magic they would bring. Life....how different would life be? Good one, PMN. ...You've written a lot!
