Thereís a site I call home
Dreamerís Reality is its name
Canít be registering anywhere and everywhere
Itís just not the same
Dorothy from the W. of. Oz said it best
Thereís no place like home
Started here at 18
Coming back seven years later
Was in a funk for a while
Now Iím feeling a bit greater
Than I used to
Realizing that the only person holding me back is me
And until I get out of my funk
Then I will never see
The gift God has given me
So I guess this means Iíll resume poetry
Until my next funk
Who knows when thatíll be
Trying hard not to cave in to negativity
Lord please help me
Self-expressionís all Iíve got
And I donít want to let it go to waste
Trials and tribulations
I want to learn how to face
Itís easy to throw in the towel
When youíve reached a dead end
But I plan to hold on
And reach my goal as a writer
Because Iím a fighter
Folks will talk til your death
So while I still got breath
Til I wonít have any left
Iíll be aiminí for publication
In spite of the rejections
Meriís gotta keep reflectiní
On how she can make her writing better
While trying to weather
This blizzard of a storm
I wanna do what I do
For Me
Canít quit
Til the sun rises and sets
Striviní to get my needs met
And since God hasnít failed me yet
Iíll stay leaning on Him like a crutch
Knowing that
Only His say so matters much

Dreamer's Reality will always welcome you home.. We all grow and change and morph thru our life. Happy sad funk and funky... Our writing is a time capsule of these times for ourselves and for others.. They remind us we are not alone... I like this poem.. and Welcome home.. :)

smiling wide now

Thank you kindly Becky. You're right. I feel like the prodigal daughter. I love how therapeutic writing can be and being in the writers' corner, where people share a passion for writing.
