Un Moment S'il Vous Plaît...
Author: Shiloh

Un moment s'il vous plaît...

Where are the moments....
the important and
mind-blowing moments?
There should be moments.
Grand moments.
Moments that make you pause,
step back,
and say, “Whoa!”
Moments that make you want to know
“What the hell IS this?!”
You know…
important and mind-blowing moments.
Growing up I used to see them,
hear of them,
all the damn time.
Not so much any more.
At least, not for my eyes and ears.
But maybe I’m just out of the loop.
Yeah – that’s probably it.
I’m just out of the loop?
So no more moments for me.
Makes me wonder,
pisses me off,
to finally understand that
there are no more moments.
I miss them already.
Can’t be helped, though.
I knew this would happen some time,
but I didn’t prepare for it.
I should have, but I didn’t,
save some for later.
I always thought there would be time enough
to do that later…
But — guess I was wrong.

“Vous gagnez et vous perdez,
Ce qui sera sera.
Telles sont les fortunes de la vie…
Fortunes de guerre,
C’est la vie,
C’est la guerre…
La vie est la guerre.
Il n’y a pas de promesse
De n’importe quoi.”

Will we ever learn?
