It Isn’t Heaven Without You

Air, I once needed it to live.
I couldn’t survive without it.
I needed food and water as well,
They were also for my benefit.

I do not miss any of these.
Not one of life’s pleasures do I crave.
I don’t miss the weekends at the lake,
Or the hiking trips up to the cave.

I don’t miss one thing about life;
Except you. I do yearn for you.
Not the physical bond we shared,
But the spiritual love that we knew.

Without you, I am incomplete.
As if I’d misplaced part of my heart.
And I shall not feel whole again,
While death keeps the two of us apart.

Heaven almost makes up for that,
Yet I cannot say what isn’t true.
Though it is more than paradise,
It isn’t Heaven without you.

That would so suck!

Being alone in heaven without your soul mate would be the pitts!

Tears

Another great poem Mark. I really enjoy reading your stuff. Makes tears come from within that I've never felt. It kills me to read this and think of my girlfriend in Heaven without me or if it was the other way. Thank you again.
