Is This The World You're Leaving Me?

I turn on the T.V.
And what to my surprise.
Another suicide bombing,
Another baby dies.

A politician tells a lie,
Soldiers are sent away to die.
They tell us we're too young to know,
We'll understand more as we grow.

What are we supposed to do
With the example that you've set?
Do you expect us just close our eyes?
Do you think we'll just forget?

When you're dead and gone,
What will be your legacy?
Wake up, and look around.
Is this the world you're leaving me?

I turn on the radio,
And here we go again.
Another plane is hijacked,
Is it ever gonna end?

Another story in the news,
Another President accused.
And you tell me I must watch and learn,
If I do I'll watch the world burn!

What are we supposed to do
With the example that you've set?
Do you expect us just close our eyes?
Do you think we'll just forget?

When you're dead and gone,
What will be your legacy?
Wake up, and look around.
Is this the world you're leaving me?

It is a mystery,
What you expect of me!
But if you think I'll let it pass,
Then you can kiss....my....ass!

What are we supposed to do
With the example that you've set?
Do you expect us just close our eyes?
Do you think we'll just forget?

When you're dead and gone,
What will be your legacy?
Wake up, and look around.
Is this the world you're leaving me?

The answer is yes.

This is indeed the world you will inherit.

Poor kids.

Well the world certainly is going to hell in a hand basket.
