The Final Chapter, Of Our Hearts
8 December, 2003
Author: Mark Spencer
So many words, she has read, my every poem, every line
To the point, somehow, she has confused, her very mind
Then, she makes a move, to find out, if my words are true,
This isn’t fair, this, isn’t fair, yet, I understand, her move
To a cliff , she takes us both, then, we both, go over it
I never knew, I had no clue, she, would make this move
Must be something special, within her heart
To make this move, yet If, I fall, she is in my heart
There is no confession, for me to make
Every word and every line,
Was written from my heart, and mine to make
Love can be a fire, and two hearts, it can take
Away, from where they were born,
If, upon the rocks, my heart,
She shatters, without intent
My heart will think of her, as its torn apart
So, many words, perhaps, too many
She read the poems, of my heart
Can it be, she now writes,
“The final chapter of our hearts.”
