He Will Sit On A Swing In The Park
29 January, 2004
Author: Pamela O'Brien

He will serenade with me
In the early hours of the morning
To the rising sun, the open sky -
And the others walking home in the distance
Who happen to hear our joyous voices
And he will dance with me
In the middle of the street
Not hesitating when a car approaches
It's headlights transformed into spotlights
To shine upon our moment of ecstacy
He will sit on a swing in the park
And say nothing at all
While we contemplate the rest of the existing world
And how many other lovers are
Sitting on swings and staring at the same stars
We will find each other someday
By coincidence
When we hear each other serenading
Or see one another dancing
Or find ourselves sitting on neighbouring swings in the park
