I Look For A Sign
Author: Pondering Red

vinebar

In the black velvet night
after the harvest moon and the lunar eclipse
and the image of Saturn have faded,
I draw apart the curtains of darkness
to step deeper inside the nighttime.
Here is where I cannot see,
yet things are clear,
where answers may come as
dazzling, coloured, flowered patterns
zooming towards me
continuously
pulling their shapes from nothingness and
lunging at me with
such intensity
I have to step back.
I gasp for air.
Yet, I am not conscious of my breathing.
My hands tingle.
I wait here for answers.
I am fearful of asking questions.
You pick up my words as you would pick wild flowers.
I pick up yours as hundreds of white rose petals
fall through the air
and
now that I care,
I look for a sign,
show me.
