Reunion At Rushmore High
Author: Will Berry

1.  If you haven't donated something to the
    reunion committee's slush fund, please
do so now - accepting cash, credit
cards, money orders, and checks (not
    of town).

2.  The formal banquet will be Saturday
night. Gentlemen, if you do not own a
coat and tie, please see Gilmore Capps
who has a fine selection of business
    apparel dating back to 1953.

3.  The class picture will be taken before
the banquet starts so that those of you
who would like to nod off after dinner
    may do so.

4.  The after-dinner speaker will be our
    beloved sociology teacher, Miss Rosetta
Thistle, age 102, who will speak on
    the subject, "Keeping Your Virginity
    After 60."

5.  Unfortunately, our dance band, "Maxwell
and the Monotones," has had to cancel
due to the fact that they will be tired
    from their day jobs.

     "Hi, Norma, remember me? Bill?"

"Well, Bill...of course. I haven't thought about you since we got out of high school, but then again, I didn't think too much about you in high school. Weren't you the kid who was in biology class for 4 years? Some sort of ongoing lab experiment, weren't you?"

"Yeah, they held me over for 3 years."

"Well, Bill...excuse me, let me turn to my reunion guide here...oh, yes, here it is: 'Say (fill in the blanks), say (Bill), what have you been doing all of these years?'"

"I don't remember except that I made a lot of money for other people. Right now I'm working on a book about aging. I'm already on Chapter 3."

"What were the first two chapters about?"

"I forgot them. Say, Norma, what have you been doing all of these years?"

"Two marriages. The first one was the poor one. Then I divorced the poor one for Olaf. He was the rich one. Then he conveniently died and left me his art forgery business and the Tiffany lamp collection."

"'re all alone in the world, Norma?"

"Depends on what cruise ship you're on, (Bill)."

"Norma, after all of these years, could I ask you to dance? Of course, you'll have to lead."

"Well, (Bill), I don't know if you have noticed this or not, but we have no dance band which means we have no music. Tell you what you should do...keep circulating, keep circulating, just like the guide says, (Bill)."

"EXCUSE ME, EVERYBODY, EXCUSE ME! Gilmore Capps here. I'm sorry to announce that I have some bad news and some sort of good news. The banquet chef and his staff just walked out. Something to do wi th payment up front, I think. However, Mrs. Loretta Diggs, the head of our wonderful school cafeteria at Rushmore High, has kindly consented to heat up some leftovers from Friday's lunch."

     "Hi, Geraldine, remember me? Bill....?"

This is real good

Have you written or published any books? You're a great author! I love this poem! Real good read! Reunions, well any type, I don't really care for, because they aren't that interesting, but hey, it's only a get together..... I know very few people at my school anyway, because I'm so shy, even though I'm crazy at the same time! Weird eh? LOL! Cute Will! Smiles, -Meri
